The creators of Frostpunk 2, 11 bit studios, were awarded no less than three Digital Dragons Awards statuettes, including one for the game of the year 2024. Other awarded studios were Critical Hit Games (for Nobody Wants to Die), Rage Quit Games (Best Mobile Game – Tomorrow: MMO Nuclear Quest) and LocalThunk (Best Foreign game – Balatro).
The gala took place at the ICE Krakow Congress Centre during one of Europe’s largest video game conferences. It was also broadcast on GRYOnline.pl and tvgry. Frostpunk 2 is the sequel to the well-received survivial strategy game from 2018, which also won the legendary dragon egg. Frostpunk 2 topped the rankings in three categories: Best Polish Game, Best Polish Game Design and Best Polish Game Audio. In turn, Nobody Wants to Die, an adventure game with a noir vibe, was awarded for Best Polish Narrative and Best Polish Visual Game Art.
Magdalena Cielecka of Anshar Studios, a game developer and researcher, producer and academic lecturer, received the Special Recognition Award, given every year to the most influential persons in Polish gamedev, from the Krakow Technology Park, the organisers of Digital Dragons Conference.

The prestigious statuettes were awarded during the second day of Digital Dragons Conference, one of the most important B2B events for the global gamedev industry organised since in 2012 in Krakow. The event was broadcast by GRYOnline.pl and tvgry, which are part of Webedia Polska SA.
A prominent guest of the gala was Tomáš Dvořák, a.k.a. Floex: composer, multi-instrumentalist and multimedia artist. He created the soundtrack for games by Amanita Design, including Samorost 2, Samorost 3 and Machinarium. He also composed the score for the Polish game Papetura.
For the first time of the gala’s history, indie developers have also been recognised for their work with Indie Dragons Awards. Physical prizes in the form of advanced computer hardware for the indie developers were sponsored by AMD (the Technology Partner & Indie Zone Partner of the event). AMD also gifted DD Awards winners in the Best Polish Game category with a Western Digital workstation with a 96-core AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO processor, 256GB of DDR5 RAM and a powerful 2TB drive.
