The Best Polish Games of 2025 – Nominations for DD Awards and the Full Conference Programme Have Been Announced

Four games have dominated the list of nominations for this year’s Digital Dragons Awards. The Alters (11 bit studios), Cronos: The New Dawn (Bloober Team), Dying Light: The Beast (Techland) and Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon (Questline) will compete for the awards in all categories for console and PC games. The winners will be announced during a ceremony at Digital Dragons Conference 2026, the full programme of which has just been announced by its organiser – Krakow Technology Park.

Digital Dragons Awards are the oldest and most prestigious awards for Polish video games. The iconic dragon egg statuettes will be presented in a total of seven categories: Best Polish Game, Best Polish Game Design, Best Polish Game Visual Art, Best Polish Game Audio, Best Polish Narrative, Best Polish Mobile Game and Best Foreign Game. During the gala, which will take place on May 18th 2026 at the ICE Krakow Congress Centre, a Special Recognition Award will also be presented to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to Polish gamedev, along with awards for the most interesting independent projects present at the conference (Indie Dragons Awards).

The Golden Four

The nominees were selected via a survey sent out to Polish game studios – in line with the organisers’ guiding principle of ‘for the devs, by the devs’. Four titles released last year earned particular acclaim from those surveyed.

The Alters is a unique blend of adventure, strategy and survival in a sci-fi setting. For the game’s developers – 11 bit studios – this is an opportunity to claim the main trophy for the second year running, as Frostpunk 2 was the winner last season. Bloober Team and Techland will also be competing for another dragon’s egg in the top category, as the creators of Cronos: The New Dawn (a post-apocalyptic survival horror) and Dying Light: The Beast (the sequel to the 2022 Best Polish Game – Dying Light 2: Stay Human), respectively.

The absolute newcomers, meanwhile, are the developers from Questline studio, creators of the “Polish Skyrim” – Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon. The nominated title – a classic first-person RPG inspired by Arthurian legends – is the team’s debut production.

The ‘golden four’ is merely a figure of speech, as there were many more titles that deserved a nomination. It is impossible not to appreciate the sweat, blood and tears that went into these productions. Last year, over 400 digital games were released on the Polish market. This number, and above all the quality of the nominated projects, demonstrate the maturity of the Polish market. The list of nominees also shows that, amongst the industry’s veterans, there is still room for new, up-and-coming creators. There are few markets in Europe that can boast titles of such high quality, genre diversity, and artistic boldness and experimentation as this year’s nominees. This is a sign that, despite market challenges, the Polish games industry remains one of the leaders in European game development – a position sealed by Digital Dragons Awards.

Full programme of Digital Dragons Conference

Krakow Technology Park has also announced the full programme for this year’s Digital Dragons Conference. As always, Krakow will welcome leading Polish and international industry figures, who will discuss the technological, business and artistic aspects of video game development.

Notable among this year’s guests are Olek Lebiedowicz (Remedy Entertainment), who will discuss his work on the hit Alan Wake 2; composer Marcin Przybyłowicz, known for his soundtracks for The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk; and Kasia ‘Kafis’ Zielińska (Techland). Also in attendance will be the winner of the Special Recognition Award from two years ago – Marta Fijak (Day Off Interactive).

The conference programme will also be enriched by Legal & Business Summit by Rymarz Zdort Maruta. In addition, attendees will take part in numerous networking events, including Digital Dragons Party at Forty Kleparz.

Higher ticket prices starting in April

The end of March is an important date in a Digital Dragon’s calendar: it marks the end of the application period for Indie Zone and the end of the most affordable ticket prices. Both admission tickets and fully equipped stands for independent game developers are available on the organiser’s website.

Digital Dragons Conference 2026 will be held from 17 to 19 May 2026 at the ICE Krakow Congress Centre and Park Inn by Radisson hotel. For the 15th time, the conference is organised by Krakow Technology Park, which builds a support ecosystem for the Polish games industry, also running Digital Dragons Accelerator and Sectoral Council for Competences – Gaming and GameDev.
